Your Tee Shirt Memory Quilts Design Process
At Tee Shirt Memory Quilts we pride ourselves on our customization and collaboration with the customer. We want to design and make your quilt exactly the way you want. Any special requests, special fabrics, special applique techniques, etc. are welcomed and encouraged. Here is what we do after we receive your t-shirts.
Step 1. Order Processing
We double check that you have included an order form, a deposit and that the number of shirts indicated on the form matches what you sent. We put your t-shirts into a dedicated project box, where the contents are kept together during the entire process of completing your quilt. We then enter the order into our system and prepare an estimate.
Step 2. We let you know we received your T-Shirts
We will send you an email to let you know we received your package. The email will include an estimate. If we have any questions we will call to go over your order.
Step 3. Prepping the T-Shirts
Next, we prep the shirts and cut all the fabrics to complete your quilt. We use the highest quality 100% cotton interfacing to stabilize the t-shirts so that they last a lifetime. Everything is put back into the project box until it is ready for layout.
Step 4. Layout and Approval
At this point, unless you have indicated a preferred layout, we lay out the shirts in a pleasing manner. We will take a picture of the layout and email it to you for your approval before we start sewing.
Step 5. Sewing
The blocks are then sewn together to create the ‘top’. We sew the backing fabric, iron everything and get it in to the Tee Shirt Memory Quilts queue to be quilted.
Step 6. Quilting
Your quilt is professionally machine quilted on a longarm table sewing machine. We use the latest computerized technology to give your quilt a consistent all-over design.
Step 7. Finishing
Binding is the final step in completing your one-of-a-kind Tee Shirt Memory Quilts. Binding encloses all the raw edges of the quilt and gives the quilt a professional finish.
Step 8. We notify you your Tee Shirt Memory Quilts are finished
We will email you when your quilt is finished and send you a picture. We will let you know the balance due. You can mail us a check for the balance or you can pay online using PayPal. We can also charge your credit card you provided for your deposit on the order form if that is your preference. Just let us know.
Step 9. Shipping
We pack your Tee Shirt Memory Quilts and prepare them for shipping. Generally, we use Priority Mail and you will be sent a tracking number via email when we create the shipping label. You always have the option of picking up your quilt at our studio if you prefer.
Step 10. Feedback
Let us know by email when you receive your T-Shirt Memory Quilt and how you like it. Your feedback is important to us. The best compliment is a positive review on Google and/or Yelp. These reviews help our business a lot and we appreciate you taking the time to post them. Please let your friends and family know about us.
